Wesley Hardisty

Award Winning Rock/ Folk Fiddle

Bio:
Wesley Hardisty is a young man worth watching. Wesley is a fiddler, guitarist, composer whose music blends rock, country, folk, Celtic and Metis sounds. His passionate fiddle playing is compelling to watch, his love of music and performing evident. Still in his teens, he has an impressive resume, hundreds of gigs including a performance for the Royal couple Will and Kate, the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, Folk on the Rocks Festival multiple times, the TRC national event in Inuvik. Wesley was featured on Breaking New Beats TV show as one of the cutting edge young Aboriginal talents in North America. His debut CD 12:12 won a 2012 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award for Best Fiddle CD. Wesley is from the Dene First Nation in the Northwest Territories. Largely self taught, he took up the fiddle six years ago in Forst Simpson through the outreach work of the Kole Crook Fiddle Association. Moving to Saltspring Island BC at age fifteen, he attended the prestigious Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts. While his roots are in Northern, Metis and West Coast fiddle music, Wesley always experiments musically and plays guitar, piano, bass, drums, and sings. Wesley is a soulful, gentle, natural musician.
